Koda Maxon (they/them) is a vibrant Canadian vocalist, performance artist, and composer who is an alumni of Brandon University's School of Music. They are also a studio instructor for the university's Eckhardt-Gramatté Conservatory of Music. Their compositional works focus on contemporary techniques and the use of multimedia to explore topics of identity, nature, and connectivity. Koda’s goal as a composer is to explore the art of sound through the creation of works that allow the listener to experience a new world. They find inspiration in topics of intense emotions, their relationship to nature, spirituality and queer Identity. Koda is a playful composer who loves to explore new harmonies and extended techniques.

Maxon earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance (Voice) in 2022 and has since completed a Master's degree in Composition from Brandon University. They teach voice and music rudiments at the Eckhardt-Grammatté Conservatory. Maxon's compositions utilize contemporary methods and multimedia to explore a wide variety of themes all woven together by one commonality, exploration of identity. Maxon is part of an experimental queer music duo as the main vocals and electronics, called, "Transfixed" with Dr. Nora Wilson and participates in the local arts and 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Brandon, Manitoba. When they aren’t performing or teaching, Koda can be found doing work for their position as advocacy. co-ordinator for the Brandon Pride Board.
